Organic Baby Food Could Be Healthier for Growing Bodies
"I want to make sure that he gets the best that he can get. And I think organic's the best," Gorman said. Consumer Reports testers said buying organic baby food is a good choice, and can be worth the extra cost. "Baby food is usually made from condensed fruits and vegetables. This means that the pesticide residue can sometimes be concentrated as well. So you'll get higher levels than in regular food," said Consumer Reports tester Urvashi Rangan. In fact, studies show that children who eat organic food have lower levels of pesticides in their blood than children who eat regular food. Consumer Reports testers said pesticides could pose a bigger risk for children than adults. "Babies' bodies are still developing, so they are especially vulnerable to toxins in foods like pesticides and other chemical additives," Gorman said.
The skinny on those mortgage ‘pre'-quirements
Just because you're 6-feet-6, can run the 40-yard dash well under 5 seconds and won a few trophies in college doesn't mean you're entitled to join the pro ranks. You still have to impress scouts, compete against other rookies and survive the cuts before you can make the team. The same generally can be said about obtaining a home mortgage loan. If you're out hunting for a house, you need to secure financing. And that means you'll need to convince a potential lender - and a seller, for that matter - that you're a worthy borrowing candidate by impressing them with your verified stats. Essentially, that's what they mean by getting “pre-approved." But first, you may need to convince yourself that you've got what it takes financially to buy that home by getting “pre-qualified." .
Morelia: the Great Mexican Chili Contest
01.03.2007 The first half of the Morelia-Linares Super-GM tournament ended with Anand and Carlsen in the joint lead. After the closing ceremony and some last-minute shopping, the participants all embarked on the trip back to Europe. But at the Mexico City Airport there was a red-hot incident that almost disrupted the course of the event. Big pictorial report. Halftime in Morelia/Linares The first half of the Super-GM tournament in Morelia/Linares has ended, and the final table shows Indian GM Vishy Anand and Norwegian wonderboy Magnus Carlsen in the lead. If we look at the statistics of the games we see that the drawing quotient was 64%, which is not unusual in tournaments of this calibre. Peter Svidler is the only player to draw all his games (but see below).
